The Tema Metropolitan Health Directorate is taking steps to integrate adolescent corner concept into the existing CHPS compounds in the Tema Metropolis. In their effort, a room has been allocated at the Kpotame CHPS compound for adolescent services.
To improve the capacity of the adolescent center to provide adolescent-friendly services in a time of increasing teenage pregnancy and HIV infections in tema newtown, Galaxy Fun Club is soliciting for support from the public and institutions to equip the center with plastic chairs for the center operationalization. Currently, the center has a designated nurse and only 2 tables without chairs.
Equipping the center means adolescents can visit, ask questions on sex, receive advice and referral services, have access to convenient visiting place and hours, privacy, and confidentiality to be open minded to ask questions. The project will also help to have access to adolescent data base.
The center will also provide menstrual hygiene management education and introduction of the adolescent girls to environment friendly menstrual products.
