Background of Galaxy Fun Club!

Galaxy Fun Club was started in the Tema Metropolis in the year 2015 with the mission to help the youth identify, exercise and develop their potentials. But over the years, the geographical scope of our operations has expanded to other districts and regions in Ghana. For instance, in the year 2020, our youth for peace campaign was national in scope. As at the year 2021, our COVID-19 education and distribution of free nose masks with the support of the European Union for instance was started at the Tema Metropolis and extended to Prampram, Yendi, and Limpua and it surroundings.

Also, Ho in the Volta Region had some of vulnerable schools benefiting from the nose mask distribution. To help increase the number of youth involvement in the club activities, we leverage on ICT and technology to surge our impacts and reach many youths and communities.

Aside the direct community initiatives and recognition, Galaxy Fun Club is also noted for its whatsapp platform (Time With Pros) which is used for dialogue and education on sensitive and emerging issues in our societies and around the globe. Our resource persons are carefully selected and are sometimes not necessarily youth or members of the club.

Aside whatsapp, we also use zoom and Radio as wireless media in communication to achieve our objectives. We are often hosted on Obonu FM (96.6Mhz) on every Saturday where we discuss with the host (Sheriff Iddrisu) upcoming projects and issues of concern in the tema metropolis and beyond.

OBJECTIVES

As a Club we seek to promote; 1. welfare of our members 2. Volunteerism and patriotism among the youth, 3. Culture of giving and donating to orphans & the vulnerable, 4.Youth empowerment on the sustainable development goals (SDGs), 5. Environmental cleanliness & Health society, and 6. Identification & development of talents of youth and youth groups.

LEADERSHIP

The Executives are in charge of strategic planning, resources mobilization and establishing links for partnerships.

Thomas Adabogo

Thomas is the Founder of Galaxy Fun Club. He plays key roles in the planning, and partnership discussions with sister associations and institutions since the formation of the club. He is a passionate advocate for gender equality.

Kwame Grundow

Grundow joined Galaxy Fun Club in the year 2016 as the Director of Projects. He is currently the President of the Club. He embraces the idea of riding on technology to make Galaxy a world class club.

Samuel Azure

Samuel has been serving as the Communications Director of Galaxy Fun Club since 2015. With his extensive skills in communication and dialogue, he continuously holds the team together as well as responding to public concerns. Samuel has all the SDG goals at his finger tips.
